1. Real Madrid
A rather simple move for the man who scored a more than impressive 36 goals last season, which was unfortunately overshadowed by the two big names of the league, would be a short trip to Atletico's rivals Real Madrid. Falcao would be the top of an incredible attack, consisting of Ronaldo, Ozil and Di Maria, this transfer move would in my opinion put the Madrid side above their age-old rivals Barcelona.A possible front four for Madrid - lethal to say the least |
Should he go to Madrid, he would definitely work well under Mourinho, who likes the traditional number 9 and has a preference towards them in his side. The manager, who also was at Porto though as manager, would get the best out of traditional strikers like he did with Drogba at Chelsea.
2. Chelsea
Falcao's "childhood dream" was to play at Stamford Bridge in a blue shirt from what Mr Garcia (his dad) tells us, and his dream could come reality with Di Matteo only having one choice in a quality striker in Torres, who can be inconsistent at times - something the Colombian isn't.He would also feature at the top of a 4-2-3-1 should he start ahead of Torres, but if they were to start together, defences would crumble under such talent, supported by players such as Hazard, Oscar and Mata in a possible 4-4-2.
The Colombian could score an exceptional amount of goals by feeding off of the quality service from Mata and Hazard.
Alongside Torres, Falcao could be lethal |
3) Manchester City
Though his father (surprisingly) hasn't mentioned the Manchester side, I'm sure Mancini could tempt the number 9 to the Etihad with his bottomless pits of money. Though with an already quality attack of Tevez, Aguero, Dzeko and Balotelli I don't think another expensive striker is needed, no matter how good he is.I have only recently heard about the possibility of this move, and the two aforementioned teams are much more likely to obtain the Colombian goalscorer. However if the unexpected goes through, and Falcao becomes a City player in January, then he would be up against some very tough competition for a spot.
Wherever Falcao goes, he will be a success, but how will the Colombian adapt? At Porto and Madrid, he is/was their only goal threat, and the majority of plays ended through him. If he were to be around big names such as Ronaldo, Aguero or Torres, the number 9 might have to adapt to playing alongside other quality players up front, and not being their key player in attack.
